This seminar provides an overview of the business opportunities associated with how Security Tokens on a Blockchain, which are compliant and regulated by governmental agencies, can revolutionize industries such as finance, real estate, retail, energy, and venture capital among others.

Topics covered include the factors and principles that govern the planning, organizing, and managing of security tokens development (digital securities) on a Blockchain in order to uncover near-term business, fundraising and investment opportunities that can bring exponential value to startups, midcap and large corporations.

About the Speakers

Alex Nascimento ('08)
Alex Nascimento, MA, MBA is a faculty member and Co-founder of the UCLA Blockchain Lab & Blockchain at UCLA where he lectures on Blockchain Business Applications and Security Tokens in addition to his role of Managing Director of 7CC - Blockchain Investments, a company focused on supporting & fostering the Blockchain industry. Alex got his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and has developed training, marketing & blockchain strategies for companies in the United States, Latin America, and Asia. Alex can be found lecturing at UCLA and speaking at main Global Blockchain conferences and Corporate events about the future of Blockchain Technology & Security Tokens.

Tim Lewis
Before founding Ikigai, Timothy spent 20 years in security, architecture, and data expediency. He has held top network and security certifications in Cisco and Microsoft, including CCIE (in written, security, R&S, and Voice), MCSE, MCDBA, CCDP, CCNP, and CCVP. Timothy led teams in development and security with organizations at Société Générale, Oracle, and Kaiser Permanente, and became involved with Bitcoin in late 2009. He was an early investor in Ethereum and began to advise on and invest in numerous other crypto asset projects starting in 2014. In early 2018, Timothy founded a leading EOS block producer, LibertyBlock.

Benjamin Tsai ('01)
Benjamin Tsai, the President & Managing Partner at Wave Financial, is a trilingual financial executive with 15 years of proven success in developing global investment solutions for SWF, insurance firms, non-profits, and private banks. He has managed profitable teams in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taipei, and served as CEO of Merrill Lynch Singapore Commodities. Subsequently at AllianceBernstein, Ben has served as Senior Portfolio Manager for the alternative investments business across Asia. In addition to his work at Wave Financial, he invests and mentors early stage startups in Southern California. He volunteers at the LA Blockchain Lab, a non-profit connecting academia and government in the field of blockchain technology. He holds a BS in engineering from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from UCLA.

Phillip Liu
Mr. Phillip Liu was Chief Operating Officer at Bitmain Technologies Ltd., the most successful start-up blockchain company in the world, and soon to be one the most blockchain attractive IPOs US stock market. Phillip has successfully helped Bitmain to develop the most advanced semiconductor mining chips and AI chips, by building up close working relationships with the first class technology and internet companies around the world (Google, Facebook, Advanced Micro Devices, etc.); and he has positioned Bitmain in the leading tier of AI chips, servers and cloud services.
